Members of the International Organization for Secure Commerce (IOSC) must recognize that they are expected to adhere to the highest standards of ethical and professional behavior.

The following tenants of the IOSC code of conduct are intended to provide guidance and set general expectations. They are not intended to replace, or create conflicts with, any existing oaths, laws, regulations or professional standards.

Members of the International Organization for Secure Commerce will endeavor to:

Act to protect society;

 
   

- Promote the use of secure business practices.
- Encourage resistance to illegal activities and unsafe practices.
- Promote regulatory compliance.
- Report dangerous, illegal, or unsafe situations.

 

 

 

Act ethically, honestly, responsibly and legally;
 

- Tell the truth.
- Do not use scare tactics or downplay legitimate risks.
- Act within the law and legal system.
- Maintain confidentiality and transparency as appropriate.

Act in the best interest of your principals;
 

- Respect the positions of trust and privilege granted to you.
- Avoid conflicts of interest. Disclose any that may arise.
- Be clear about your competencies and qualifications.

Act to advance the field of commerce security;

- Maintain your competency, skills and knowledge.
- Promote professionalism and competency.
- Associate with other professionals.
- Contribute to the common knowledge.
